Monthly Adventures

So hubby and I came up with a fun, spontaneous way to have some family time with our girls. At the beginning of the month, Jade or Annabelle pick one popsicle stick from a mason jar, which has about two-three dozen popsicles with fun places to go. This month Jade picked Rock n Jump. We've only been there once, but it was super fun! We'll be going there next weekend since Vectra that weekend off. We'll keep you updated =)

From Baby to Preschooler

So Jade started Preschool this month. I love how excited she got the very first day. She woke up super early, ate all her breakfast, changed herself and was ready to go! On our drive over to the school I started thinking of what to tell her while dropping her off. Trying to prepare myself. As we go in, I told Jade to have fun and before I could finish my sentence she was already inside her class saying "Ok mom see you later bye!" I was shocked, yet so excited for her. I thought it was going to be so hard for her to say bye, but it wasn't. I wasn't hard at all, if anything, it was hard for me. Being with her since the day I became pregnant with her. Then her starting Preschool.. I'm such a proud moma. Knowing my daughter is going to accomplish so much and not be scared to try new things. When Annabelle and I went to pick her up she gave us both a big hug and started telling me how her "day at school" went. Hearing her excitement, her telling me the names of all the friends she made, I couldn’t help but cry. My baby is not a baby anymore, she's a Preschooler.

Halloween Crafts with My Girls

This week my girls and I did some fun Halloween crafts. We went to the Dollar Tree to find some stuff we can use for this project. We found some really cool stuff, check it out. Some construction paper, googly eyes, and pom poms. 

First, I precut what was needed for Jade's pumpkin, she's not too good with scissors yet. Then I let her put the pumpkins face on how ever she wanted. Looks scary if you ask me! But I love it because Jade made it.

While Jade was finishing up her pumpkin, Annabelle was coloring her witch and ghost. Not only did she color on the paper, but on her legs, and her arms, and her face.. I guess that's what happens when I look away huh?? We added some googly eyes on her ghost and witch to make them look spooky.

Finally we made spiders, using the outline of their hand and finger as the spider's legs. They enjoyed placing all the spider's eyes everywhere. The top picture is Jades and the bottom is Annabelle's, small little fingers. 

I love doing crafts with my girls. I love watching them express themselves through art. If you love it as much as I do, take a trip to your local Dollar Tree, you never know what fun crafts you might find. Enjoy crafting!

Jade and ABC Mouse

I signed Jade up for ABC Mouse and we are both loving it. Jade created her Avatar, which is wearing a pretty blue dress with blue flip flops and has pig tails. The parent can adjust the child's education level. Jade is set at Level 1, which is Preschool Level. Her lessons consist of Math, Reading, Arts & Colors, and the World Around Us. I can also check Jade progress on each subject, so if she needs extra time on one more than the other, I will help her get to where she needs to be. 

When you complete a lesson, your child gets rewarded with "tickets." The more tickets she earns, the more things she can "buy." She can buy things such as, furniture for her avatars room, toys, wall decorations, pets, etc. Jade, of course wants her room with a princess bed, dolls everywhere. So she knows she has to get "tickets" to "buy" things for her room. So far, we are both loving this program. Jade gets excited to learn, and I can't be anymore prouder! She will be ready for school in no time! 

Worried Momma to Pround Momma

This past month was very stressful for both Annabelle and I. Since I began working, Annabelle has been refusing to eat solids or drink anything but water when I'm gone. I figured she'd be better after a few days or so, but no, she wasn't. I had to take her to her to see her pediatrician because I was concerned she was loosing weight. Well, I was right, she lost four pounds. For a fourteen month old, 18 pounds is below average and I wasn't having it. I felt like such a horrible mother. Right then and there I wanted to just quite the job that I've grown to really like. Her doctor gave me very helpful tips to get her to eat more solids so I decided to start them that day. Her and Jade now have matching plates and cups. I started feeding them the exact same foods, that way Annabelle doesn't feel left out for not eating what Jades eating. I am now proud to say Annabelle is doing great! She's started eating more solids, less boobies (which I am both sad and happy about).

As a mother, we want what is best for our children, and I'm just so happy that Annabelle is back to being a happy baby. I know it must of been very hard for her to see me go to work, and be gone six hours a day. The look on her face when I pick her up, I love it. Lets not forget about Jade here, she gets excited seeing me too. "Mommy you have to work so you can buy me and sissy more toys ok," says Jade. Gota love her! It's not hard at all for Jade to be away from me because she loves visiting her cousins, aunties and grandma. As long as she knows that I am coming back to pick her up, she's perfectly fine. Now lets hope Annabelle starts gaining her back her weight.

Boogies and Vomit

As I sit here writing this, Annabelle is cuddled up on me. A week now that she’s been sick. Poor baby can’t seem to get a break. First she had a high fever, then she couldn’t keep anything down. Now she has an extremely stuffy nose. I’ve been thrown up on about 3 times today alone. I have boogies all over my yoga pants, and vomit down my bra.

Seeing your child sick is just horrible. Knowing you can only do so much for them. I just want her to be herself wonderful, silly self again. I want to hear her laugh, see her smile. I’m comforting her as much as I can. When she cry's, I can barely hear her voice. She looks so sad and miserable. I’ve now postponed her birthday party until further notice. Any recommendations on home remedies?  

Shhhh Jade!!!

“Mommy don’t wipe your face on the towel, Daddy dried his balls on it!!” I couldn’t stop laughing at what Jade just told me. Looks like she heard me yell at my husband to stop drying his balls on my hair towel. Now every time he showers Jade yells, “daddy’s balls are wet!!” She finds it very funny saying the word balls. She knows what a penis is, what balls are, and what a vagina is. Let’s just hope she doesn’t say this in front of normal people.

Annabelle's Turning One

Turning a year old tomorrow, oh how this little girl is growing so fast. Annabelle just started walking a few days ago, and she's so excited. She falls and gets right back up, with the help of her older sissy Jade. My tough girl! Annabelle has taught me so much, one, being how to be more patient, which is great because I wasn't so patient before. I think the breastfeed helped a lot. Wow, a whole year breastfeeding! That was my initial goal, but now that we have reached it, I think I'm going to continue until Annabelle is ready to self wean. I love the bonding time between us, its like we are in our own little world. Even though she bites me because she thinks its funny, I love seeing her smile and hearing her giggle. Tomorrow we are going to have something small at our house, then in two weeks we are having her birthday party. We look forward to celebrating with our close Family and Friends.

Letting Jade be Jade

As I sit here staring at my almost three year old, I think to myself how time has flown by. My daughter Jade is such a smart girl. I'm not just saying that because she's my daughter, but its true. Everyone sees it, and I know she knows it. She always puts a smile on my face, no matter how overwhelmed I sometimes get with both her and her sister. She can sometimes be such a girly girl, but sometimes such a boy. Lets just say, she's always herself. I wouldn't want it any other way. She puts on her princess dress, boots, and plays with her race cars. My mother doesn't approve of my girls playing with "boy toys." What is considered a "boy toy" or a "girl toy?" If my daughter is comfortable in a ninja turtle costume with a tutu on, then I'm totally ok with that (that was her Halloween costume this year). I let Jade be just that, Jade. She can be a kicking ass turtle princess and I'm happy that she's happy. She has an amazing personality, is very silly, very witty, a total diva. As I watch her be herself through out our day, I imagine the incredible women she will one day become.
